Purple Giant Hyssop

Purple Giant Hyssop, or Agastache scrophulariifolia, is a stunning perennial reaching up to 72 inches in height. Its vibrant purple blooms, which appear from July to October, are a magnet for bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds, making it an excellent choice for enhancing biodiverse habitats. Notably, it serves as a crucial food source for the federally endangered Rusty Patch Bumblebee. This plant thrives in full to partial sun and prefers medium to well-drained soils, accommodating a range of moisture levels from medium-wet to medium-dry. Despite its height, it doesn’t spread aggressively, making it an ideal candidate for perennial borders, where birds can also enjoy its seeds.
