Reaches up to 4′ tall in full to partial sun in well-drained clay, loam, or sandy soils. Produces purple daisy-like blooms July–September, followed by seedheads prized by songbirds. Clumping habit with some self-seeding; blooms and seeds support a variety of wildlife.
