Reaching a height of 24 to 36 inches, this plant flourishes in full sun and prefers dry to medium moisture conditions, adapting well to loam and sandy soils. From June to August, it blooms with vivid yellow flowers that draw pollinators such as bees and butterflies. Its seeds are a valuable food source for songbirds, and it serves as a host plant for the Wavy-Lined Emerald moth.
