This perennial reaches up to 4 ft tall in full sun and moist to wet soils (clay, loam, sand). Cream-colored blooms appear July through September, adding structure to borders and naturalized meadows. It spreads slowly via rhizomes to form dense clumps.
Ecological Benefits
Produces nectar for bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds and serves as a larval host for the Baltimore Checkerspot butterfly.
