Reaches up to 5 ft tall with upright stems bearing umbels of white flowers in June–July. Prefers partial to full shade in medium to wet loam or sandy soils. Not aggressive, fitting well in woodland edges or shady borders.
Ecological Benefits
Flowers provide nectar to bees and butterflies, and the foliage is a critical larval host for Monarch butterflies.
